Ajit Tharakan, MD, is the associate professor and chief of the division of cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Dr. Tharakan completed his medical education and cardiothoracic fellowship at Christian Medical College Hospital in Vellore, India. Since moving to the United States, Dr. Tharakan completed a cardiothoracic residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
